Journalism Isn’t Dead

by Brandon Kiser

Andrew Breitbart wrote of the recent release of Journolist emails that:

“American journalism died today. What The Daily Caller has unearthed proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that most media organizations are either complicit by participation in the treachery that is Journolist, or are guilty of sitting back and watching Alinsky warfare being waged against all that challenged the progressive orthodoxy.”

On his second point, Breitbart is right. The media has been perverted by those within it. They called what they were doing journalism when in actuality they were playing political consultant with 400 other DC insiders that many expected and trusted to bring unbiased reporting.

Breitbart is wrong, however in saying that American journalism is dead. It isn’t. If anything, the Journolist incident gives us a chance to start anew, or go down a road that the Daily Caller has taken – not abandoning the principles of journalism while admitting that commentary is also present. To also use new media to create a different, more diverse presence in the field.

The current generation of journalists has failed. That much is apparent. We must hope, however, that the next generation of journalists learns from the mistakes of the past and adapts to the changing winds of journalism in the future.

Quinnipiac Releases Interesting New Poll

by Jackie Seal

A new poll released by Quinnipiac shows Obama losing by a slim margin to any “unnamed Republican” in 2012. Forty-eight percent of the 2,000 Americans polled say Obama does not deserve to be reelected in 2012.  To the thinking American these results shouldn’t be any surprise, but there’s still a massive amount of the population still in love with this man.  That aside, this poll also has results of an Obama vs. Palin face off in 2012.  At this point in time Obama still holds a slight lead over the “Mama Grizzly.”

On the other hand, more voters say they would vote for a Palin endorsed candidate over an Obama endorsed candidate and at the end of the poll it lists Americans disapproval of various issues the President has tackled.  The only one Americans seem to favor more than disapprove is his appointment of Elana Kagan to the Supreme Court. It is quite comforting to know that more and more Americans are realizing the damning affects of Obama’s extreme leftist policies.

Unfortunately, these poll results will do nothing to change the way Obama governs this nation.  It’s been made clear that this President has no care for what the American people want.  He wants things done his way and he’s willing to do whatever it takes. And when you have the majority in both houses, it works out well for you.  But, Mr. President, let me be clear: the 2010 midterms are about to blow your mind.

I should note, however, that the poll doesn’t say if they were asking racist people – but I’m guessing they were.
