A drunken father who did not realise his car was on fire as he drove his three children has been spared jail.
Adam Whitehead, who was five times over the limit, put the youngsters’ lives in danger after drinking a bottle of alcohol the night before the incident.
Other motorists had to pull the youngsters to safety from the burning vehicle when the 36-year-old stopped in a traffic queue.
However, Whitehead drove off without noticing what had happened.
