Some are just shocking, some are weird and others might actually win some votes. Of all the campaign videos released this week, here are some of our favorites here at The Daily Caller:

‘I’m BasilMarceaux.com’

Basil Marceaux, running for governor of Tennessee, reminds us of another favorite obscure candidate: Alvin Greene over in South Carolina.

But in this clip, the long-shot candidate was given free airtime from a Nashville television station. His rambling from topic to topic includes his desire to get rid of all gun permits in the state. He told the Associated Press that he’s not bothered by all the national attention he’s gotten from the video, and said he was distracted during the taping by the station’s producers for reminding him how much time he had.

McCollum: Rick Scott’s never gonna give you up

Rick Astley makes an appearance in a campaign video for Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum. Well, actually, McCollum’s campaign transplants the face of their insurgent, self-funded opponent, Rick Scott, over Astley during the 1980’s hit music video, “Never Gonna Give You Up.” The point? To remind voters of the health-care fraud scandal Scott’s company was involved in dating back to the eighties.

Welday: Rocky Raczkowski is no Rocky Balboa

Any Sylvester Stallone reference in a campaign video gets an immediate shout out here. Paul Welday, running for Congress in Michigan against a guy named Rocky, does a spoof of one of the most famous Stallone scenes, saying his opponent, Rocky Raczkowsk, is “no champ.”

“Hey yo, I heard about this guy in Michigan who calls himself Rocky,” says a Rocky Balboa look-a-like on after running up the famous steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. “Seems to me, he’s no champ.”
