Christine O’Donnell is finally a “mama grizzly.”

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin apparently took to Sean Hannity’s radio talk show to announce her support of O’Donnell, the Tea Party-backed Republican in Delaware challenging Rep. Mike Castle in next week’s primary.

“Just got Gov. Palin’s endorsement!” O’Donnell tweeted Thursday. “Thank you for your prayers!”

Hannity also took to Twitter to brag about Palin’s endorsement happening on his show: “Thanks @SarahPalinUSA for the last minute call in. Endorsement of Christine O’Donnell was an exclusive. Said she hadn’t told Christine yet.”

As The Daily Caller reported Thursday, O’Donnell has the ardent backing of the Tea Party Express, who has pledged to spend at least $250,000 in Delaware before Tuesday’s primary.

Castle’s campaign, in a statement, downplayed the endorsement.

“Tuesday’s primary will be decided by grassroots Republican voters here in Delaware, not out-of-state interest groups who are working to control the outcome,” said spokeswoman Kate Dickens. “Mike Castle has overwhelming support from from respected conservative Delawareans, including former Gov. Pete DuPont and Judge Bill Lee, who know that Castle is the true fiscal conservative and the only candidate who can win this seat for Republicans in November.”
