I have a new knee brace, and here’s a picture of it

It’s an unloader (or offloader) brace, which means that when I walk, it transfers my considerable weight away from the injured side of my knee. So I can walk without a crutch or cane, and it hurts about 95% less. This is good. It’s so nice to walk down the street without looking like I’m on my way to assist Dr. Frankenstein. Before, I could barely hobble to my Metro stop on my own. Now I can totally hobble to my Metro stop on my own!

It’s a lot lighter than it looks, and it’s very easy to put on and adjust. It’s fantastic. I really want to show it off, which is why I’ve started wearing shorter skirts to the office.

By the way, the second surgery I need is now scheduled for the end of October. Then it’s 6-10 weeks of recovery. All I want for Christmas is my two good knees.
