The Ground Zero Mosque will heal the divisions between us, as long as you’re willing to concede that 9/11 was Bush’s fault

Great news! According to Steven Emerson at the Investigative Project on Terrorism:

A trove of videos and writings available on the Internet shows that a longtime partner of [Imam Feisal Abdul] Rauf believes the 9/11 terror attacks were “an inside job” by U.S. government and corporate interests…

Faiz Khan, a physician who claims to have been a first responder after the September 11 attacks, is a founding member of the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth and is on the advisory board of the Muslims for 9/11 Truth. In an essay on the Alliance’s website, he argued that “the prime factor for the success of the criminal mission known as 9/11 did not come from the quarter known as ‘militant Islam’ although the phenomenon known as ‘militant Islamic networks’ may have played a partial role, or even a less than partial role – perhaps the role of patsy and scapegoat.”

So not only shouldn’t you blame all Muslims for the act of a mere handful of Islamic extremists, but it isn’t really their fault either. Whew!

Khan has led Friday prayers at the Al Farah Mosque, where Rauf is the imam, for years. That practice continued at least through December – after the mosque proposal was unveiled — when Khan was cited and photographed in an article in the German magazine Der Spiegel on the project.

Read the whole thing for video clips of Khan saying this crap, out loud, in front of an audience. And remember: Rush Limbaugh went to high school with that dude who wanted to burn the Koran, which explains everything. Rauf and this Khan nutball have been partners for years, which explains nothing.

More on Rauf here.

In other Interfaith Harmony News: CAIR claims, without evidence, that a burned, feces-smeared Koran was left on the doorstep of an East Lansing mosque. (What’s the protocol on that, anyway? Are you supposed to smear the feces on it before burning it, or after?) The Detroit News reports the claim as fact. In direct retaliation, after the story circulates via text messaging, Muslims in a small town in India burn down the town’s only church. Building bridges!
