A glance at the surge in suspected U.S. missile strikes in Pakistan in September 2010, based on reports by Pakistani intelligence officials:

— Sept. 14: Missiles fired from an unmanned aircraft target a house in the village of Shawal in North Waziristan, a region dominated by the Haqqani network of Islamist militants. Ten alleged militants are killed.

— Sept. 11: Strike kills five associates of warlord Hafiz Gul Bahadur in Datta Khel village in North Waziristan.

— Sept. 9: Missiles pound a house close to a disused match factory near Miran Shah in North Waziristan, killing five alleged militants.

— Sept. 8: Three missile strikes target houses, including one owned by Maulvi Azizullah, a member of the Haqqani network, and vehicles in Dande Darpa Khel in North Waziristan, killing 14 alleged militants.

— Sept. 6: Missiles kill three alleged militants in a vehicle in Datta Khel in North Waziristan.

— Sept. 3: Two strikes kill seven alleged insurgents, four of them foreigners, in a house and a vehicle in Datta Khel in North Waziristan.

— Sept. 2: Two airstrikes kill seven people, two believed to be foreign militants, in a house in Datta Khel in North Waziristan.
