Florida coach Urban Meyer knows how many of his players have been arrested, and he’s not happy about the total.
Wide receiver Chris Rainey was arrested and charged with felony aggravated stalking on Tuesday, making him the 30th player to be arrested or face charges during Meyer’s tenure. On Thursday, Meyer addressed Rainey’s arrest and the growing total of Gators facing legal issues.
“I try to evaluate everything about our program. I’m real upset about that,” he said. “After a while, enough’s enough. If there’s something that we can improve on, we’re certainly looking into that. It’s like if our graduation rate stinks then we gotta improve that. If there’s other issues in a program, that’s our job to get it better. It’s people making stupid mistakes, that’s something we gotta correct.”
