The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today endorsed West Virginia Gov. Joe Manchin’s bid for the U.S. Senate — the first Democratic candidate for the Senate to receive the business group’s support in this election.
The announcement was made jointly with the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Lisa Rickard, an executive vice president of the U.S. Chamber, said Manchin helped “create a business friendly environment” in the state since his 2004 election. More than 240 companies have expanded operations or moved into West Virginia in the last five years, she said.
