Last evening, Bristol Palin began a campaign of her own as she sashayed onto the dance floor hot on the trail of the “Mirrorball Trophy.” We’re not sure what was more entertaining: Bristol attributing her fame to her role as “a public advocate against teen pregnancy” or the audience’s awkward laugh when ex-fiancé and baby-daddy Levi was mentioned.
Partner Mark Ballas best summed up the true theme of the evening’s dance: “she’s only in the public eye because of her mom.” The performance was entirely pitbull-with-lipstick themed, from the song choice (Tom Jones’ “Momma Told Me Not to Come”) to the Sarah Palin-esque suit jacket with American flag lapel pin Bristol donned for the dance.
But one must give credit where credit is due: she did get out there and shake what her mama gave her. Keeping with the Palin theme, maybe next week she can Viennese waltz to “Tea for Two.”
