If he means that we’re better off with him out of office than in… okay, sure. (Incidentally, it’s tempting to say that Brian Williams doesn’t bring quite the same gravitas to the small screen as his predecessor, but I can’t quite remember who that was. Dan Rather?)
Carter has clarified his statement:
“What I meant was, for 27 years the Carter Center has provided me with superior opportunities to do good.”
If you can’t do anything well, at least you can try to do something good.
