LOS ANGELES – The Long Island-born film editor of Quentin Tarantino’s hit movies was found dead in a Los Angeles park early Tuesday.
The body of 56-year-old Sally Menke was found just off a hiking path in Griffith Park about 2 a.m. after she went for a walk with her dog in record-breaking heat on Monday.
“There were no apparent signs of foul play,” Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter told the Daily News. “It possibly could have been heat-related, coupled with whatever medical issues she may have had.”
An autopsy is expected Wednesday.
The Labrador retriever was found unharmed near the body.
A graduate of NYU’s film school, Menke was an award-winning editor who worked on such movies as “Pulp Fiction,” “Kill Bill” and “Inglorious Basterds.”
