Union ad attacks Meg Whitman on illegal ex-housekeeper

The Service Employees International Union has launched a new ad against Republican Meg Whitman, criticizing the California gubernatorial candidate for employing an illegal immigrant for nearly a decade.

The 30-second Spanish-language ad claims Whitman has attacked “undocument workers to win votes, but an undocumented woman worked in her home for nine years.” It concludes by calling Whitman a “two-faced woman.”

The ad, part of the union’s $5 million push to aid Democrat Jerry Brown, follows a new conference Wednesday in which former Whitman housekeeper Nicky Diaz claimed Whitman knew for seven years that Diaz was in the country illegally and fired her last year after she began her campaign.
