Pick a subplot. Any subplot. You’re bound to find something in Monday Night Football’s Vikings vs. Jets showdown to whet your whistle.
We’ve got Randy Moss making his 2010 debut with the Vikings, following a shocking trade from New England less than a week ago. On the other sideline, fellow wide receiver Santonio Holmes hits the field for the first time in 2010 after he was dealt to New York in the offseason, then hit with a four-game suspension. Holmes will likely be joined in the lineup by cornerback Darrelle Revis, who is expected to return to the Jets following a two week long absence due to injury, just in time to cover Moss for the second time this season — Revis and Moss locked horns in the Jets’ 28-14 win over New England in Week 2.
And then, of course, there’s Brett Favre. There is always Brett Favre. This time around, though, his on-field play has taken a backseat to a brewing scandal involving Favre and Jenn Sterger, a former Jets employee. Favre allegedly sent Sterger racy texts and nude photos — which Deadspin.com published in breaking the story, giving us the most uncomfortable internet sensation this side of those Shake Weight commercials.
