Christine O’Donnell says a new poll shows she’s closing the gap on her Democratic opponent, but the Tea Party-backed Republican is still down 11-points in the Delaware Senate race.
O’Donnell trails New Castle County Executive Chris Coons 40 percent to Coons’ 51 percent, in the latest Rasmussen poll.
“It is clear that as voters become more and more aware of my opponent’s record of increasing taxes and government that they understand the choice that they can make on Nov. 2,” O’Donnell said in a statement.
While 11-points is still a steep mountain to climb three weeks out from election day, the poll results are a marked improvement from a CNN poll from this week which had O’Donnell down 19 points.
