Karl Rove says Tea Partiers are “unsophisticated” in the ways of Washington — and are proud of that.

In a brief interview with The Daily Caller, Rove, the former Bush administration adviser, elaborated on his interview with the German newspaper Der Spiegel where he said that the Tea Party movement is “not sophisticated” when compared with the Reagan Revolution.

“For months I’ve been saying the same thing,” Rove told TheDC. “Many of those active are new to politics. They are raw, often insistent. They are unsophisticated in the ways of DC, and they demand 100 percent of what they want and now.”

He continued: “Most of them are generally proud they are not from Washington — or wise in its ways. These are characteristics of new movements, and because it’s real and from the grassroots up, it’s one of the most powerful forces in American politics.”
