Fast-forward to Beijing in the year 2030. A professor is discussing “why great nations fall” and brings up the United States.

“Now they work for us,” he says. A burst of laughter erupts from the Chinese audience.

That’s the new Citizens Against Government Waste ad that will run on major cable networks throughout the rest of the year and into 2011 meant to draw attention to wasteful government spending.

The organization says the ad, “which features a chilling look at one potential future scenario if America continues on its current destructive fiscal trajectory, is a 2010 homage to “The Deficit Trials,” a 1986 ad that was produced by W.R. Grace & Co.”
