YouTube founder Chad Hurley has decided to end his day-to-day involvement in the development of the platform.
The job has been given to Salar Kamangar instead, who will now be responsible for making the website profitable.
Commenting on his decision to leave the position, Hurley said in a statement: “For the past two years, I’ve taken on more of an advisory role at YouTube as Salar Kamangar has led the company’s day-to-day operations.”
The executive said that he would remain on the advisory board for YouTube and was confident that Kamangar is the right man for the job. Salar Kamangar is a long time Google employee and is responsible for the developing Google AdWords.
