Fair Game, which arrived in theaters this Friday, is a docudrama starring played Naomi Watts and Sean Penn who play CIA agent Valerie Plame and Joe Wilson, respectively. The film takes place in Washington, DC, as it breaks down the Washington power structure and the politics of the Iraq war through the lens of the couple.
Though the film sounds enticing, what piqued our interest most was just how many other movies featured Washington, DC as a supporting role. As it turns out, twelve Oscar winning movies were set or filmed in DC, along with dozens more which were not recognized by the Academy. Is this newest DC flick ‘fair game’ for an Oscar? We can’t say for sure, but it’s got a good shot given the setting.
