Marine Cpl. Phillip Duggan is out of the hospital and made a toy donation Saturday, friends said, 24 hours after he was attacked by a suspected shoplifter outside Augusta, Georgia’s Best Buy.

Reservist Duggan, 24, and other Marines were outside the store on Walton Way Extension about 1:30 p.m. Friday asking for donations to Toys for Tots. Authorities say Tracey Attaway, 39, of Waynesboro, Ga., stuffed a laptop down his pants and grabbed two cameras before making a break for the door.
