Social Security Administration limits retirement do-overs

The Social Security Administration announced a rule change Wednesday aimed at scuttling a strategy that allowed some well-heeled seniors to retire early without permanently reducing their benefits.

The Social Security Administration said retirees who want to withdraw their application for benefits must do it within 12 months after the application is submitted. Retirees are also limited to one withdrawal over their lifetimes.
