Tucker Carlson, editor in chief of The Daily Caller, is making headlines after offering his opinion Tuesday night that Michael Vick should have been executed after being convicted of torturing and killing dogs.

Carlson made the comments while hosting Hannity on the FOX News Channel. “Michael Vick killed dogs, and he did in a heartless and cruel way, and I think personally he should have been executed for that.”

The statement was made in response to news that President Obama had made a call to Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie and thanked him for hiring Vick.

“The idea that the president of the United States would be getting behind someone who murdered dogs? Kind of beyond the pale,” Carlson said.

Carlson recorded a public service announcement for the Washington Animal Rescue League earlier this year, sharing his belief that no animal should be mistreated.
