This afternoon, following a meandering, self-justifying speech that the Daily Telegraph‘s Janet Daley accurately characterized as “a blatantly partisan defiance of the electorate’s judgement,” Nancy Pelosi finally handed over the gavel to new Speaker of the House John Boehner:
Fortunately for her, Boehner was the only one in danger of bursting into tears. Not because she’s a heartless sociopath (although she is), but because her tear ducts have been irreversibly damaged by decades of plastic surgery.
