House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio takes a lot of flack for tearing up in public, but at least one poll suggests that his hometown crowd loves it.

Especially the ladies.

Ohio voters view Boehner’s crying episodes as a sign of strength over weakness by 36 – 27 percent, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll. For women, his tears poll favorably 44 – 20 percent.

“Some things are very difficult to talk about,” a tearful Boehner explained during an interview on CBS’s “60 Minutes” in December. “Family, kids — I can’t go to a school anymore. I used to go to a lot of schools. You see all these little kids running around … I can’t talk about it. … Making sure that these kids have a shot at the American dream, like I did. It’s important.”

“What you see is what you get,” he said later. “I know who I am. I’m comfortable in my own skin, and everybody who knows me, knows that I get emotional about certain things.”

Because of the high demand, (and The Daily Caller gives the public want they want, after all) we rounded up a few of the speaker’s most notable episodes. Boehner cries a lot, and he’s not ashamed to do it.
