A millionaire donor of the University of Connecticut’s football program wants his money back, The Day of New London, Conn. reported Tuesday.

Robert Burton, a Greenwich printing and hedge fund executive, told The Day via letter he is not satisfied with the program. He wants $3 million back citing disputes with the university’s athletic director, Jeff Hathaway. Burton also said he felt excluded from the selection of a new football coach after former coach Randy Edsall left for the University of Maryland in early January.

Burton also requests that the university remove his name from the Burton Family Football Complex at UConn’s main campus in Storrs. He donated over $7 million to the university and $2.5 million of his money built the complex. He has also contributed $1 million for scholarships.
