New York Times executive editor Bill Keller said Fox News and News Corporation CEO Rupert Murdoch are responsible for instilling “levels of cynicism” in American viewers, The GW Hatchet reported Tuesday.

“I think it has contributed to the sense that they’re all just out there with a political agenda whereas Fox is just more overt about it. And I think that’s unhealthy,” Keller said on Monday night’s Kalb Report.

Upon denying that the “Times” has a liberal slant, Keller said context is often confused with bias.

“We don’t allow this to happen,” Keller said. “I don’t mind analysis in the news, in fact I encourage it every day.”
