Former Minnesota Republican Sen. Norm Coleman has ruled out a challenge to Democratic Sen. Amy Klobuchar in 2012.

“I’ve said in other forums that I haven’t ruled out public service,” said Coleman on the ABC News Topline program, “but not in 2012.”

Coleman said that he intended to stay involved in politics and support other candidates. “I love what I do now, and that is developing center-right policy,” Coleman said.

He also predicted another successful election for Republicans in 2012. “I think America is a center-right nation, we saw a reflection of that in this election and we’ll see it in 2012.”

In 2008, Coleman narrowly lost re-election to current Democratic Sen. Al Franken, by a mere 300 votes.
