To those who still haven’t recovered from the 2007 cancellation of “The O.C.,” worry not, because a new geographic-based drama is coming to ABC, reports Politico.

“Gossip Girl” developer and “The O.C.” creator Josh Schwartz has produced another prime time drama, “Georgetown,” which Deadline dubbed “a sexy soap centered around the young people behind the power brokers of Washington.”

The show, set in Washington D.C., was initially going to be titled “The Inner Circle.” Will Fetters, who wrote “Remember Me,” is the program’s writer.

Last month in The New York Times, Ashley Parker wrote about why D.C.-themed shows tend to lack appeal.

“There is also the old Washington-just-isn’t-all-that-cool problem. Sure, it’s a city of characters, but Washington is truly at its best — and, dare we say, coolest — when it’s allowed to be its wonky, earnest, smart, overworked, chronically exhausted, wise-cracking, hyper-educated self,” she wrote.
