On Monday, Texas Republican Rep. Ron Paul raised more than $700,000 in a 24-hour “money bomb” for his LibertyPAC.

“If we show him enough support, he will announce his official candidacy for 2012,” promoters claimed in a promotional video for the fundraiser.

Paul may be planning to follow through on that promise.

WMUR reported Tuesday that the libertarian congressman will make his first visit to New Hampshire since the 2008 primary campaign on March 24 and 25. Paul will be the keynote speaker at the Dover Republican Committee’s Reagan-Lincoln dinner.

Although widely believed to be a long-shot candidate for the Republican nomination, Paul supporters can point to a first-place finish in the 2011 CPAC presidential straw poll and a second-place finish in a recent straw poll of New Hampshire Republicans.
