Daily Beast/Newsweek Web Strategy: When last we checked in, savvy commenters were saying it was crazy for Tina Brown to build up DailyBeast.com at the expense of Newsweek.com, because Newsweek.com— for all its troubles–was the stronger brand.  (How many Americans have read Scoop and get the joke of the Daily Beast‘s name?)

OK, now they’ve basically killed off traffic at Newsweek.com, while visits to Dailybeast.com remain flat.  The brilliance of this strategy is still escaping me.
