The Olsen twins never quit. The child-stars-turned-fashionistas latest move? They’re entering the e-commerce style world.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, both 24, will help design T-shirts for StyleMint, an online recommendation/subscription site set to launch this July, according to Women’s Wear Daily. Created through a partnership with Josh Berman, a co-founder of MySpace, the site will operate much like JewelMint, an e-commerce site that sells pieces designed by actress Kate Bosworth and stylist Cher Coulter.
This will be the first online-based fashion venture for the pair. Their past fashion endeavors have included a line for Wal-Mart, Olsenboye, a line sold exclusively at J.C. Penney, and The Row, an upscale collection launched in 2007.
“Online commerce is the perfect medium for us to create a new brand that is as much about the clothing as it is about the customer experience,” Ashley Olsen told WWD.
The registration process includes a style quiz, meant to help the customer choose styles and clothing that is right for them. Mary-Kate and Ashley will also be creating videos for the site.
StyleMint will initially offer eight T-shirt styles, retailing for $29.99 each, but the Olsen twins hope to later expand the collection to knits and sweaters.
