Though a heavily publicized news item, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s royal wedding will be Twitter-free, so don’t expect to see many live-tweets from the ceremony.

According to Yahoo! News, guests won’t be able to access Twitter because wedding planners arranged for signal-blocking technology to be installed in Westminster Abbey. Royal family members suggested the privacy enforcement, which was approved by police and security personnel.

With nearly 2,000 people in attendance at the church, many were concerned that guests could tweet from their smartphones and send out information on the nuptials.

A police official told Yahoo! that the blocking program will be take effect from early Friday morning until the very end of the wedding.
