Kate Middleton is set to marry a member of the royal family on Friday, but pop artist Jessica Simpson is certain her own dress will “outdo” the British bride-to-be.
Simpson, who is engaged to former NFL player and Yale grad Eric Johnson, told Access Hollywood on Wednesday that she’s looking forward to wearing her wedding gown.
“Wait till you see my heels for the wedding,” the singer said.
When asked about Middleton and Prince William’s high-profile Westminster Abbey wedding, Simpson responded, “Oh, I can’t wait to see what Kate’s wearing, I can’t wait… But I’ll outdo her!”
Like the prince and Middleton, Jessica and Johnson got engaged late last year. This will be Simpson’s second wedding. Her marriage to singer Nick Lachey went up in flames six years ago after the couple’s reality television show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.
As for Middleton’s gown, which Simpson could possibly outshine, it’s unclear which designer the future queen has chosen or what it will look like.
