Women are funny, at least according to this week’s box office chart, which reveals that “Bridesmaids,” a female-centered comedy, was the second most popular weekend flick. The movie follows a character played by Kristen Wiig as she watches her best childhood friend Lillian (Maya Rudolph) get engaged and organize her wedding.

That’s where the bridesmaids come in, but this nuptial preparation process is no tea party. The girls get food poisoning, clash, and disagree on dresses, among other things. Regardless, they know how to drink, curse, stand up for themselves, and surprise others.

For proving women can be as funny as men, and being considered by some to be the girl version of “The Hangover,” “Bridesmaids” gets its own slideshow. Here are some snapshots from the film and photos of its hilarious stars.
