Kristin ‘Billie’ Davis, was known as the “Manhattan Madam”, who at one stage was thought to have operated one of the New York city’s biggest escort agencies.

On Thursday, she claimed she provided women for Dominique Strauss-Kahn the IMF chief in New York in 2006, as he ran for the Socialist French presidential candidacy.

She said Mr Strauss-Kahn had called her personally on her mobile phone and paid $1,200 cash for two-hour sessions in hotel rooms.
