Emergency Committee for Israel web video thanks everyone but Obama for support

Jeff Winkler Contributor

Ouch. Emergency Committee for Israel has a new ad thanking all it’s supporters, with President Obama conspicuously left out.

In the ad which will run in the Manhattan and DC markets, the ECI — whose board includes the Weekly Standard’s founding editor Bill Kristol — not only plays on Obama’s Palestinian support but also highlights the overwhelming support Israel has received on both sides of the aisle, with special appearances by Democratic leaders Sen. Harry Reid and Rep. Steny Hoyer. The whole production ends with the line: “The Emergency Committee for Israel thanks Israel’s true friends — Democrats and Republicans alike.”

Obama’s foreign policy has taken a hit since the president’s announcement in late May supporting a Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, a major Palestinian demand in the eternal negotiations with Israel.
