Jack Quinn wins “shameless” award

Shameless D.C. Player of the Week: An AP report on John Edwards’ near-nonexistent comeback chances contains this catchy quote: “‘Trial or not, John Edwards is the Charlie Sheen of American politics — great hair and no chance for rehabilitation,’ said Democratic consultant Jack Quinn.” Would that be the same Jack Quinn who helped talk Bill Clinton into pardoning fugitive financier Marc Rich in the final days of Clinton’s presidency–after which Rich surfaced as a reported middleman in Saddam Hussein’s evasion of the U.N. “oil-for-food” program?  Jack Quinn shouldn’t be getting his name in the press by waxing sarcastic about who can and can’t be rehabbed.
