German Minister for Agriculture Ilse Aigne tells a press conference that ‘no germs were found’ during the first set of tests at a northern German farm suspected as the source of the E.coli outbreak.

The outbreak has already killed 22 people and caused a health scare across Europe and though nothing was found on the farm in Bienenbuettel in Lower Saxony, officials said this may be because contaminated food had been transported from the site a long time ago.

“I think it is right to continue to observe the consumer guidelines on what to eat,” Aigner told journalists at a press conference.
