Twitter pictures may be free, but with a little pocket change you can taste Anthony’s Weiner.

As first reported by the New York Daily News, Brooklyn sausage eatery Der Kommissar was so inspired by last week’s Weiner erection photo scandal that it created a new dish called, “Anthony’s Weiners,” which includes two beef hot dogs, two pieces of French bread, and olive oil. For $6, you get the whole package, with sauerkraut and a pickle on the side.

Though the new product wasn’t a hot item on Saturday, the business’s co-owner Alex Darsey told The Daily Caller that the joint saw an explosion of new customers after the Daily News article appeared in print on Sunday.

“In fact we had our best Sunday yet (we are only two months old) after the article ran yesterday and we sold a bunch of Anthony’s Weiners,” Darsey told TheDC.

Darsey said the venue began selling the Anthony’s Weiners to spread the word on Der Kommissar’s opening and amuse diners.

“[The] main impetus for running the special was for laughs and to attract a little attention to ourselves,” Darsey told TheDC. “I have been following the story from the get-go and clipping some of the funnier headlines out and putting them above our menu board. It just seemed natural that we should have a special.”

But Darsey didn’t come up with the item to profit from the political mishap. Der Kommissar additionally wants to create a humorous atmosphere for customers.

“If it were to drum up some business, great, but if it just served to make people smile then that would be enough for me,” Darsey told TheDC.

Darsey isn’t out to embarrass the congressman, but would like the New York Democrat to stop by Der Kommissar for some Anthony’s Weiners on the house.

“I didn’t really intend to publicly shame the poor guy anymore than he was already getting it but hopefully he’ll come in one day and I’ll buy him some Anthony’s Weiners and all will be forgiven,” Darsey told TheDC.

When asked if Anthony’s Weiners will stay on the menu, Darsey seemed positive that the hot dog was here to stay.

“I guess now we should run the special a bit longer,” Darsey told TheDC.

On customer ratings of Anthony’s Weiners, Darsey said reviewers call the food “salaciously delicious!!”

Kara Dennison, 32, who lives nearby, told the Daily News that she thinks the new piece of meat is “hilarious.”

“The owner has a keen sense of humor and appreciates the clientele of the neighborhood,” Dennison said of Der Kommissar.
