John Bolton recently sat down with The Daily Caller’s Ginni Thomas for a wide-ranging interview in which he touched on the possibility he will run for president in 2012.
The former U.N. ambassador under President Bush has not ruled out a run for the Republican nomination and said he plans to decide by Labor Day.
“I also think it’s important to see how the field continues to evolve,” Bolton said. “I don’t think we know everybody who’s gonna be in the race. I can tell you having talked to people all over the country it’s a very fluid environment.”
“Unlike past Republican nomination cycles where we’ve had a clear frontrunner, I don’t think there is a clear frontrunner,” he said. “Republican voters are very determined to find the right candidate to defeat President Obama.”
