Jon Huntsman highlighted a pair of recent television appearances in a new Web video released Tuesday in which he declares that President Barack Obama “has failed us.”
“He had two-and-a-half years to do the most important thing demanded by the American people — fix the economy, create an environment that is conducive to job growth, and he has failed us,” Huntsman told CNN’s Piers Morgan in a Monday evening interview that his campaign has excerpted in the new video.
The short video also includes clips from Huntsman’s Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week” with Jake Tapper, in which he alleged that Obama showed “zero leadership” during the debt ceiling debate.
Huntsman has emerged as the chief critic of a current Republican field that he believes does not appeal to a “center-right country,” one possible reason he has been attracting increased attention from news media.
He is set to appear on four news shows this week, plus a sit-down interview with David Gregory on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday.
