LAUSANNE, Switzerland (AP) — The Court of Arbitration for Sport says Alberto Contador’s Tour de France doping case will be examined during a four-day hearing in November.
Two previously scheduled three-day hearings in June and August were postponed to allow further legal submissions. The dates for the hearing are now Nov. 21-24.
Contador tested positive for clenbuterol, a banned anabolic agent, during his third Tour victory in July 2010.
The International Cycling Union and World Anti-Doping Agency appealed to CAS after the Spanish cycling federation cleared Contador in February, accepting his explanation that he consumed clenbuterol in a contaminated steak.
If found guilty, Contador faces a two-year ban and will be stripped of his titles at the 2010 Tour and 2011 Giro d’Italia.
