Jon Huntsman will appear at the South Carolina Statehouse Monday to announce an endorsement from the state’s Attorney General, Alan Wilson, CNN reported.
Wilson, who is the son of GOP Rep. Joe Wilson, joins a handful of other South Carolinians who have endorsed Huntsman in recent weeks. The former Ambassador to China received early support from state Sen. John Courson, former Attorney General Henry McMaster and the family of the late Governor Carroll Campbell.
South Carolina’s two most prominent endorsers, however — Gov Nikki Haley and Sen. Jim DeMint — have not yet signaled who they might eventually throw their weight behind.
After the 10:30 a.m. announcement, Huntsman will travel to campaign in Indianapolis. And on Wednesday, Huntsman plans to unveil his own jobs plan at a campaign stop in New Hampshire, preempting both Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama.
