Natalie Munroe, the real-life “Bad Teacher” who notoriously authored a mean-spirited, profanity-laced blog about her “frightfully dim,” “utterly loathsome,” “rat-like,” “lazy,” “rude,” and “out-of-control” students earlier this year, should be relieved. In the aftermath of her scathing Internet rants, which garnered national attention and criticism, Munroe has fewer precious snowflakes to teach this year.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Munroe’s year as an 11th grade instructor got off to a great start, likely due to the fact that she now teaches classes of only 12, 15 and 8 students each — instead of the standard 30. A substitute teacher is instructing the kids who have been granted permission to leave Munroe’s courses, handling classes of 5, 14 and 20 teens.

“Things went well,” Munroe said of her first full day back at Central Bucks High School East. “There were a few points and whispers … but nobody said anything. No one was rude. It was a normal day.” (MORE: Mean girl teacher suspended for blog rants about ‘rat-like,’ ‘lazy’ students)

That’s a relief for Munroe, who had described one student in her blog as a “Rude, beligerent [sic], argumentative f**k” and another as someone who “Dresses like a street walker.” She also didn’t seem to connect with oddballs, having written of a student, “Weirdest kid I’ve ever met.” Patience was not one of her virtues either, as Munroe wrote of a male student, “Shy isn’t cute in 11th grade; it’s annoying. Must learn to advocate for himself instead of having Mommy do it.” Munroe also didn’t seem to be a fan of lingering, as she wrote of another student, “Asked too many questions and took too long to ask them. The bell means it’s time to leave!”

Munroe’s blog went unnoticed for more than a year but was removed after her cover was blown. In February the high school teacher was suspended for her rants.
