House Majority PAC, a Democratic Super PAC, is up with a new ad Friday morning supporting Democrat David Weprin in the special election to replace disgraced ex-Rep. Anthony Weiner in New York’s 9th Congressional District.

Featuring a man dressed in the style of a Founding Father, complete with wig, ruffled collar and a scroll, the ad attacks Republican Bob Turner for his position on taxes and Medicare.

“Ah, in New York I have smelt the rat. Mr. Robert Turner seeks election to Congress praising tea party logic. But ‘tis no tea party of mine,” says the man. “Mr. Turner would reduce the taxes on the wealthiest among thee, while making thy elders pay more for medicine.”

“Mr. Turner, my brethren fought against injustice,” he continues. “‘Tis why Ye New York Times endorsed David Weprin: ‘Mr. Weprin has fought to protect senior citizens,’” he reads from the paper.

The ad is part of a six-figure buy, House Majority PAC says, and will run in the New York City media market from Friday through the special election on Tuesday. The ad will not run on Sunday, the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

“If Republicans are going to play footsies with the tea party, the House Majority PAC is going to stomp on their toes,” said Ali Lapp, Executive Director of House Majority PAC. “House Majority PAC will be educating voters in NY-09 of Robert Turner’s embrace of the tea party and his commitment to reducing taxes for the wealthiest, while making seniors pay more for Medicare.”
