Euro optimism bumps up stocks at open

The markets kicked off the day in the green following three straight days of gains as traders shrugged off modestly disappointing durable goods data and remained hopeful that European authorities would move to keep Greece from defaulting next month.

As of 9:32 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 71 points, or 0.64%, to 11,256, the S&P 500 gained 3.7 points, or 0.31%, to 1,179 and the Nasdaq Composite rose10.8 points, or 0.44%, to 2,558.

The Dow has soared 457 points, or 4.3%, in the last three trading sessions alone, the best three-day performance in a month, and a stark contrast from the deep losses sustained last week.
