Holly Madison, the former Hugh Hefner girlfriend who co-starred in the reality series “The Girls Next Door,” took out a $1 million insurance policy with Lloyd’s of London to insure her breasts, she told People magazine Thursday.
Madison, who currently appears in “Peepshow” at the Las Vegas “Planet Hollywood” hotel, explained why: “If anything happened to my boobs, I’d be out for a few months and I’d probably be out a million dollars. I thought I’d cover my assets.”
Madison had plastic surgery in 2001, changing her size from an A-cup to a D-cup. She has discussed the surgery openly, citing confidence and self-esteem issues as her reason for the big change.
This is not the first case of entertainment icons insuring their bodies. In the ’80s, Van Halen front man David Lee Roth took out a $1 million insurance policy on his sperm. And Mary Hart, who made her fame on Entertainment Tonight, had an insurance policy on her legs.
Silver screen legend Betty Grable was known in her day as “the girl with the million dollar legs” because her “gams” (as they were called then) were insured for that much.
But the modern record just might be Heidi Klum’s. The Project Runway host told TV tabloid show Extra this month that her legs are insured for $2 million.
