House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi told The Daily Caller that Apple co-founder Steve Jobs taught the federal government to “be entrepreneurial” and “support small businesses.”

TheDC asked Pelosi what the federal government could learn from Apple, given that the company had more cash on hand than the U.S. Treasury at the end of July 2011.

“Did they?” Pelosi replied with a laugh. “Be entrepreneurial. Support small businesses,” she said when leaving her weekly press briefing at the Capitol on Thursday.

Pelosi opened the press conference with her thoughts on Jobs’ passing. She called Jobs a “great visionary genius” who had “a connection with so many different generations in our country down to 4-year-olds asking for iPads for Christmas.”

Forbes has estimated Jobs’ net worth at $8.3 billion.

Apple, based in Cupertino, California has been ranked the world’s most valuable company with a market value of over $330 billion.
