‘Time to kill the wealthy,’ says fan of Occupy Wall Street

Font Size:

Ever since a lunatic named Jared Loughner shot a bunch of people in Arizona last January, the left has been climbing all over themselves trying to tie the right wing to violence. In Loughner’s case, it didn’t even matter whether he was right-wing, or political at all (he was neither). They did their best to pin his violent crime on their political enemies anyway.

Now we’ve got these adorable Occupy Wall Street children. Unions love ’em. Congressional Dems love ’em. Finally, a Tea Party of their very own!

Yeah, um… about that? Politico:

Several influential New York state lawmakers have received threatening mails saying it is “time to kill the wealthy” if they don’t renew the state’s tax surcharge on millionaires, according to reports.

“It’s time to tax the millionaires!” reads the email, according to WTEN in Albany. “If you don’t, I’m going to pay a visit with my carbine to one of those tech companies you are so proud of and shoot every spoiled Ivy League [expletive] I can find…”

The email, with the threatening subject line of, “time to kill the wealthy,” was detailed and disturbing.

“How hard is it for us to stake out one of the obvious access roads to some tech company, tail an employee home and toss a liquor bottle full of flaming gasoline through their nice picture window into their cute house,” wrote the author of the email.

The email references terminology that has been used in the “Occupy Wall Street” movement — that the 1 percent, the super rich, are exploiting the remaining 99 percent of Americans. The angry message demanded that Albany politicians “stop shoveling wealth from the lower 99 percent into the top 1 percent” and “set aside your ‘no new taxes on anybody’ pledge.”

And now, the same people who insisted that a U.S. map with crosshairs symbols on it somehow caused an act of horrible violence — by someone who never even saw that map — will insist that the Occupy Wall Street geniuses bear no responsibility for the actions of this lunatic. That the inflammatory “eat the rich” rhetoric we hear day and night from our moral, ethical, and intellectual superiors on the left has absolutely no influence on anything bad their followers do.

Either political speech causes violence or it doesn’t, lefties. You chose poorly. All year long, you’ve been eager to see an outbreak of political violence. Now you’ve got it.

Now you own it.
