The hardy protesters who have been “occupying” Washington, D.C.’s McPherson Square for the past six days received much-needed reinforcements on Thursday in the form of “Stop the Machine,” another protest event run by professional left-wing activists.

The new protest occupied nearby Freedom Square and had all the trappings of a well-to-do activist shindig — including Chris Hedges of the “TruthDig” blog, a hand-drum concert, and a kick-off event at the very fashionable Busboys and Poets coffeeshop. it also had its share of libertarian interlopers and some 9/11 “truthers.”

Most of the U.S. “Occupy” protests share an Internet-focused outreach strategy, perhaps best showcased on the “We Are the 99 Percent” blog on the very fashionable Tumblr platform. In that wired spirit, The Daily Caller took the opportunity to gather some of our favorite protest photos from the last few days in Washington.
